The Eclipse

As if caught in an eclipse 
The world came between us 
And I lost sight of you 

Like the moon, I am left in the dark 
While your brightness lies behind 
The barrier imposed by fate 

Now I drift alone in empty space 
Cold to the touch without your warmth 
How cruel it was to have your light taken from me!
